Dr. I Teng Cheong aka Emily

I Teng (Emily) received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Alberta in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Veinot. She began her postdoctoral research with Prof. Makhsud Saidaminov at the University of Victoria in 2024 and joined the Sargent Group in 2026. Her research combines materials chemistry and device engineering to understand and control the processing of semiconductor thin films and nanomaterials for energy conversion and sustainable optoelectronic applications.
