Dr. Jennifer Flexman

Dr. Jennifer Flexman studied electrical engineering at McGill University in Montreal and completed a PhD in bioengineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. At UW she also completed the Certificate Program in Technology Commercialization. During her graduate studies, she researched in vivo molecular imaging techniques using MRI and PET, such as stem cell tracking. Before returning to graduate school, she worked in the semiconductor industry at Teradyne, Inc., in Boston.  After completing her graduate studies, Jennifer was a Science and Technology Policy Fellow for the University-Industry Demonstration Project (UIDP) at The National Academies in Washington, DC. After working as a Michael Smith Postdoctoral Trainee at the British Columbia Cancer Research Centre, she worked at the University of British Columbia in technology transfer to commercialize university inventions. Jennifer joined the Sargent group in 2011, where she is responsible for advancing research and development, industrial collaboration and commercialization.
